Welcome to our new space at 148 Manitou Professional Building, we are thrilled with our brand new space that was renovated and designed for our clinic needs. Three and a half weeks into our space and we are thrilled with how it turned out and we are enjoying it so far.
How the move went?
It went, like any move it’s always a LONG day but with a lot of helping hands and support from friends, family and co workers, we were able to move everything on Sunday May 1, 2022 and were ready by 8:30 am Monday May 2, 2022 for our first client of the day. With the help of Grand River Movers (who were 2 hours late) for arrival they moved everything in a timely fashion- once we started and thankfully nothing was lost of broken in the move.
How the first few weeks have been so far?
Busy, hectic and a little overwhelming. Moving into a building and onto the second floor of the building has been a little tricky for clients to find us, and Google/Apple Maps didn’t really help some of our clients. We are continually working on these updates to better serve you. Signage is delayed at the moment, we hope that over the coming weeks, we will have more signage outside the building which will help you find us. Currently our signs are located inside the building and outside of our unit.
Why did we move?
We loved our first clinic down the road, but there were a few things that were a little bit of a nuisance, things that you aren’t aware of until you move into the space. What we noticed; lack of sound proofing between units, limited parking spaces, the entrance and exit out of the unit.
Growing a business is always our goal! In a short time we started to outgrow the space and therapists were sharing rooms. With the new unit we added 2 additional rooms that are more comfortable for therapists to work in as well as for clients. Adding the additional rooms allows our therapists to extend their hours if they wish or add days in the week if they would like too.
Moving to the new location provides a greater opportunity for us to gain new business from the doctors offices and health care providers that are in the building. The parking space is vast and has designated disability spaces to serve our clients who may be in a wheelchair/walker or crutches, which we didn’t have at the other space.
A big expense for massage therapy clinics is the laundry, laundry, laundry it never ends. Every item is cleaned between each client- which includes a face cradle cover, two sheets, blanket, towels and pillowcases. For 4 years we had a wonderful service (VIP textiles-Guelph) and they would pick up and drop off laundry two – three times a week. Adding our own washer and dryer was something I planned to do as the clinic grew but unfortunately our old clinic would not allow for this, which played a part in our decision to relocate.
What’s next for us at Savannah Massage Therapy and Wellness Clinic?
Find our flow :)! After COVID shutdowns and just COVID in general and the move, we are so ready, to just get into a groove again and find our flow! We hope with the new space that this is our home for a long while and it will allow us the opportunity to continue growing and adding new members to the team, we would really like to add practitioners who have complementary skills (ie. acupuncturist, naturopath, osteopath) that can serve our clients in their goals and wellness journey.
We hope that you have enjoyed the space and if you haven’t seen it yet, we look forward to showing you at your next appointment with us.
Thank you for following us on our journey!
