We are excited to have some of Yemaya’s products in our clinic. Yemaya is a family owned and operated and has been in business for 25 years. They are located in Wyoming, Ontario. Their products are 100% organic and natural without any additives or preservatives. Yemaya products are made using certified organic herbs, pure essential oils and fair trade butter. They are also very supportive of supporting local farmers as much as possible.
Many of their products contain sunflower seed oil and calendula flowers, both flowers are grown without the use of pesticides. The sunflower oil is unrefined (no degumming, defoaming, bleaching, deodorizing, etc.) and are GMO-free. It does not require hydrogenation – a process used in many commercial oils to extend shelf life. Sunflower oil is the base in many of Yemaya’s ointments (nursing ointment) and oils (relief massage oil). Calendula flower contains a high level of flavonoids which help to protect the body against cell damaging free radicals. Calendula has anti-viral, anti-genotoxic, anti-tumor, anti-inflammatory, and antibacterial effects. Pharmacological studies in Europe believe that the calendula flower helps to promote the metabolism of proteins and collagen, which also helps grow new and healthy cells. Calendula is used in their diaper ointment and their calendula ointments.
Why Yemaya products?
The reason we have this line in our clinic is not only to support local businesses but because finding natural, organic and local products that really work is hard to come by these days. In a world full of so many toxins and chemicals it’s nice to have something more “clean” on the shelf.
How did you learn about this product?
Yemaya was first introduced to me by a client back in 2015. It was the mother of the owner of Yemaya who shared this product with me during her massage appointment. I remember a story she told me about a family member who had severely burnt their hand, and how after just a few applications of the calendula ointment the burn healed. I still have the original samples I was given – peppermint foot rub (MUST TRY) and the calendula ointment.
